DALLAS, TX. T-JI Talfourd-Jones’ September 26th debut at the American Public Transportation Association’s International Transportation Exhibition 2005 was marked by the endorsement of its bumper and fender products by Tony, the Wise Guy mechanic. The 40-something maintenance supervisor stated, "Hey, wise guys know about Reflex Bumpers™ - you bolt ’em on and fugedabowdit!" With Tony standing by, Bill Cherry, President of T-JI "put industry leaders, OEM parts reps, and transit agency types wise" to the benefits of Reflex Bumpers and Bug Simple molded fenders. Of special interest were the "Tony Approved" buttons, which heralded the launch of T-Ji’s new quality assurance campaign. "If my face isn’t on it, it isn’t genuine Reflex Technology - then you should fugedabowdit!" stated Tony with his usual candor. The icon will soon be appearing on product packaging and labels assuring OEMs and end users alike that they are receiving superior asset protection at affordable prices. "No throw-away technology here, just solid performance, value, and style."
Tony is part of a campaign to create greater awareness of the superior dimensions of value T-Ji’s safety products represent at the transit agency level – getting at the end user whose responsibility it is to keep the fleet running and looking good. The campaign will also raise awareness about the need to support the wider adoption of existing ATPA guidelines for impact absorbing bumpers. In particular, T-Ji is promoting the extension of Section 5.4.3.9 of APTA’s General Procurement Guidelines to include 35’ circulators, 45’ suburbans, 60’ artics, over-the-road-buses, and all imported transit vehicles destined for medium and heavy-duty service. As Bill Cherry, President of T-Ji stated recently, "Maintaining and promoting standards is good business for the transit industry and the right thing to do. T-JI Talfourd-Jones, Inc. endorses [Metro Magazine’s Publisher] Frank Di Giacomo’s proposition that transit agencies, vendors, and governmental agencies must ’embrace the notion that the development of standards is critical to progress, both from a business and operational point of view’ ".
T-JI has been a leader in RIM technology for commercial transportation for over 15 years by insisting that the quality of its service, the integrity of its organization, and its commitment to supplying state-of-the-art asset protection products are without compromise. Its energy absorbing transit bumpers, padded stanchions, and molded fenders have been selected by industry leaders like New Flyer of America and NABI, for their most advanced products. Tony’s endorsement of T-Ji’s products and automotive supply chain management style will help get the message out.
Look for Tony at BusCon 06, Navy Pier, Chicago IL, October 24th & 25th, booth #930. And The Canadian Urban Transit Associations Trans Expo in the Direct Engergy Centre Automotive Building, Toronto November 7th 2006, booth #431. Meanwhile, don’t fugedabowdit!
